All email accounts in Outlook are gmail accounts and all worked fine until about April 24, No changes were made in the computer or Outlook setup before the problem began. Now we get a smtp server password box and error code 0xCCC0E.
First thing I verified was that the password is the correct password by logging out of and back into the gmail account. Password is correct. This is a Windows 10 based computer. MS Office with Outlook has been set up and running without problems on this computer for a few months. Outgoing Server - smtp. User Name is set correctly Gmail email address is verified and correct. I was going to try 2-step verification but since the "Less secure apps" didn't fix the problem I don't see what difference 2-step verification would make.
I've seen there are many others who have reported this same problem with earlier versions of Outlook and for many nothing recommended seemed to work, and I've tried them all except the 2-step verification.
